Kenya June 7-18, 2009

Yeah! After two years of trying to go to Mbita, Kenya to visit Christ Gift Academy, it looks like that dream is finally going to come true. Christ Gift Academy is a school for orphaned children of aids. One of their parents or both have died usually due to aids and quite often the children have aids as well. The boy I have supported the past 2 years – William, thankfully, does not have aids and I will finally get to meet him. I am going with the team from Seacoast Church to serve the widows and young women in the surrounding communities. We will also have the opportunity to spend some time with the children and teachers from the school. Feed the Children donated 180 new crocks we will be able to give to the 150 widows we will be ministering to. Our presence makes a huge impact on the local churches/missionaries we are serving alongside. We hope to reach the young women and widows and instill values in them that will change their generation to live a life free from sexual immorality and embrace one that is full of hope for the future when they put their faith and trust in God instead of men who give them empty promises. It is the same message I share here in the states and see lives changed. Now it is time for me to take this message to Kenya and I hope you will join me.
We are a team of 8 women (two teens) serving as missionaries for 10 days. We need your support and prayers and I especially want you to be with us in prayer starting today as you read this blog. People have asked why not just send them the $3000 instead of making such a hard journey. I have seen what miracles take place when you go to the mission field. People want to hear and see what the Americans have to say even if it is just so they can get the free gifts we bring. The shoes & food will meet a physical need and our hope is to touch their heart and meet their spiritual needs as we share our faith. It is one way of how we fulfill the scripture in Mark 16:15 to go into all the world and proclaim the good news to all creation.
I am blessed to have all of you in my life and I appreciate you taking this journey with me. Please pray for the hearts of the people to be ready for the hope we have to offer them. Pray for all our team to collect all the donations needed to make the trip. Pray for the leaders we will be serving alongside that God will bless all their preparations for our visit. Pray for safety in travel and for our health.
Blessing to all,
Roz Page
